(Snow Leopard) Is there any way to get fusion to assign the usb floppy the letter "a" in the system so we can use Embird on our Mac's? She has a MacBook Pro and I have a MacBook. I updated to vmware fusion 3.1 beta this morning in hopes that it would be the "fix" but it was not, hence this post. The other virtualization program assigns the letter "a" to the usb floppy but there are other software problems that prevent using that virtualization software. I have even tried other virtualization software to remedy the problem. They refuse any support since they don't support anything done in virtualization. I have emailed the makers of Embird to no avail. The usb floppy is assigned the drive letter of "b:" and this is a problem for the Embird software to deal with since it will only recognize the "a" drive. The problem enters when plugging in the usb floppy. It is a Viking Designer 1 machine and we are using Windows XP (service pack 3) as our guest to run Embird. Our sewing machine is NOT a new one and it still relies on a floppy drive to transfer sewing patterns from the computer to the sewing machine. It is a program for a digital embroidery machine. My wife and I use a program called Embird.
